Like with the Elements thread, i'll gradually fill you in on the current standing of the Resistance mythology as well.
As I'm sure you're aware, the first THREE chapters of volume 1 are up on DeviantArt. 4th is - as usual with my creative projects - in a permenent state of "in progress"
The format of the saga is Ten Volumes, each consisting of Ten Chapters. With each chapter being a serial short story, much like an episode of a TV show.
Each Volume has it's own story arc(s) from start to finish, as well as developing characters and the greater mythology as it goes along. Old characters can (and do) die. New characters crop up throughout.
Like Elements, the Earlier stages are quite well planned out already. The mid-to-late volumes are pretty much clean slates, although i have in mind the story for the final volume.
As ever, spoiler warning :fire:

Volume 1 - Odyssey
The overall arc of Volume 1 is to establish the core characters of the saga. We begin with meeting Marcus Kane who's effectively on death row for treason. We end with the rejuvenated Resistance movement launching their first (successful) offensive operation in a long time - Essentially signalling a turn in the tide, since the Resistance were previously facing annihilation.

Chapter 5 - Propoganda
Status:
Early Planning
Characters (New / Returning)
Claire Larkin
??? ??? - Reporter
Plot:
This one i've not really fleshed out yet. The plan is to follow a reporter on Athenia, where we see that the official line was that Kane was killed trying to escape, in a lame coverup attempt by the Alliance government.
The reporter discovers that this isn't the case and starts unravelling the threads, which gets her some unwanted attention. She's forced to go on the run.
Claire Larkin sees an opportunity to recruit someone who will have a lot of contacts, which could be a useful asset. She orders some of her people to make contact with the reporter to get her offworld and to a safehouse on another planet.
Chapter 6 - Supply Run
Status:
Early Planning
Characters (New / Returning)
Alan Wade
Grace McQuarrie - Chief Medical Officer, Resistance
Plot:
Again this is not fleshed out.
Basic plot is to introduce us to another senior member of the Resistance, Grace McQuarrie, as also establish the fact that the resistance have to get their supplies (food, medical etc) from somewhere.
While on a planet trading, Petrarch's Fleet appears in orbit searching for Kane, which potentially jeopardises the supply mission, and their ability to return to Valhalla base. (Since they are getting a suspiciously large supply of stuff and then heading off-world).
Chapter 7 - First Strike
Status:
Early Planning
Characters (New / Returning)
Markus Kane
Karis Paige
Alan Wade
Claire Larkin
Daniel Carter
Plot:
Kane helps the Resistance plan their first offensive attack in a long time - and since his arrival. He proposes a surgical strike on a lightly defended communications relay to knock out interstellar communications to one of the outer rim spokes. Specific location TBD.
The result of this is to allow the Resistance free movement in the blackedo out area to conduct a raid, without a call for help going out to the bulk of Alliance forces.
Chapter 8 - Projections
Status:
Early Planning
Characters (New / Returning)
Commander Iliana Fox
Colonel Nathan Reynolds
Admiral James Petrarch
Colonel Lyle Quinn
Possibly other senior staff of the Pegasus & Artemis (New or returning)
Plot:
Petrarch learns of the communications blackout, and is convinced that it's Kane's work rather than a malfunction.
He asks Fox - who also knew Kane well - to help him work out what Kane might be up to on the assumption Petrach is correct.
Chapter 9 - That Which Is Coveted
Status:
Early Planning
Characters (New / Returning)
Markus Kane
Karis Paige
Alan Wade
Claire Larkin
Daniel Carter
Plot:
The Resistance plans it's main objective - a strike on an Alliance shipyard above a planet, where work is about to be completed on a new cruiser class vessel

Chapter 10 - Homecoming
Status:
Early Planning
Characters (New / Returning)
Markus Kane
Karis Paige
Alan Wade
Claire Larkin
Daniel Carter
Commander Iliana Fox
Colonel Nathan Reynolds
Admiral James Petrarch
Colonel Lyle Quinn
Plot:
The Resistance puts its plan into motion. However Petrarch and Fox have concluded that the Shipyard is Kane's likely target, despite the fact easier targets are available.
The Resistance arrives and disables the shipyards defenses, deploying a boarding team to seize control of the ship and prepare for escape. However Petrarch's fleet arrives before they escape.
Petrarch's fleet deploys fighters and moves to intercept. Kane realises that their only chance is if he takes one of the Resistance ships and draws their focus away long enough for the cruiser to escape.
Petrarch is wise enough to see Kane's strategy, but he knows that if everyone else is killed and captured and Kane escapes, that McCarthy will not be pleased. So he dedicated most of his forces to pursuing Kane. The cruiser escapes, leaving Kane being pursued by 8 capital ships, and the fighter complements of the Artemis and Pegasus...

I've attached a map with i've made to try and get a bearing on things for myself.
Green Planets indicate the "Core Worlds". These are the highly populated main planets of the alliance.
Blue planets are the "Inner Rim" planets. More medium populations, but still key planets in the alliance.
Red planets are the "Outer Rim" planets. Low populations. Generally looked down on by the rest of the alliance, have their needs ignored, are less protected/policed etc.
Arrows indicate the main "jump" routes between systems. These routes are generally the shortest routes between planets (and therefore safer jumps as there is less room for error in the mathematical calculations). They also have nav beacons along the route, so any (smaller) ships which are unable to make the jump in one go can still safely travel along these routes. While jumping between two planets not arrowed is possible, its risky as you can end up lost. In particular, the area known as the void - with little in the ways of landmarks to establish your position - is a dangerous place to travel, with many ships getting lost and never heard from again.
Purple diamonds indicate non-planetry points of interest.
