Okay, I thought id write a little list of rules for the RP section. When forum RPing, there are a few things you should always remember, because, if you don’t, you may find you spoil the RP your participating in, annoying people, or you may even find yourself at the mercy of the mods (and trust me, you don’t want that)
Anyway, you should remember the following things, which I think are just matters of common courtesy, but well, personal experience proves otherwise.

1) Remember the thread starter, as this is their story. You must stick by their rules at all times. If this is you, then you must uphold those rules, and make sure everyone follows them. You are allowed to set any rules you like (as long as they abide by the overall forum rules) on your RP. If you find you cannot control the situation, then call in a mod. Just make sure everyone knows what the deal is before you get started to avoid future headaches. Barring that, I think the following points would also make good sense to remember.

2) Godmoding. We all hate this, and its one of the biggest problems in RP circles. It's running rampant across many Free RP boards, but we don't like it here. Now, some people aren't too sure what Godmoding is exactly, so, here it is. Godmoding is where you make your character ridiculously powerful, where nothing seems to hurt them, and they can destroy massive enemies in 1 hit. No one wins by being “Invincible”, you're just giving yourself an unfair advantage over the other players, ruining all their fun. Godmoding is also where you declare something is happening to a character being controlled by someone else. You cannot kill/maim/damage any other peoples characters, or make them do things they would not otherwise do Think about it, there's very little chance the other person would want his/her character to have to go through life with one arm from that point on? Losing a fight is not the end of the world. In fact, it can make things even more interesting. Fighting isn't supposed to be the main focus of an RP session anyway, it's about telling a story everyone's characters get to play a part in.

3) RPs are really about everyone having fun, and building up a story together. If you want something really dramatic to happen, that will change the foundation of the RP, and take the story in a whole new direction, then ask first. This is known as Consensual RP. You may not see the faces of the people you're playing with, heck, you may not even know them very well. But those are still people on the other side of the screen, and they have as much right to have fun with the RP as you do.

4) And I'll just say it one more time to emphasise... there are no single winners and losers in an RP. If you follow these rules of common courtesy, everyone has fun, and everybody wins. If even one person decides to be an ass by only doing what they themselves want rather than considering the other people involved, everybody loses.

Thank you for your attention. Now you know the rules, so RP, and be merry!
