Episode 3

Plot Summary

Jake lies in a coma in hospital. Erin has been captured by Slade's minions. Chris tries to broker a peace with the president, who has been personally authorising covert operations against them. The fate of the world hangs in the balance.

Jake awakens just before he is assinated by Loki, and a battle ensues throughout the hospital. Despite his various handicaps, Jake wins, and he soon ends up at the negotiating table with Chris. However Jake and the president immediately take an immediate dislike to each other. The President views Jake as an arrogant young man who posses a serious threat to the world. Jake refuses to forgive the president for sanctioning operations against them, even when it was clear they were doing good.

Slade evacuates all remaining equipment he needs from his skyscraper facility as he prepares to move to his secret island facility in the south pacific, where Erin is being held. She feels helpless, locked in a cell all alone, with her only company being the ocasional unwanted advances and taunting from Loki.

Back in America, Jake and Chris manage to win the support of the president, and the special forces team that was previously pitted against them is put at their disposal. What they don't know is that the teams commander, Major Lance Redfern, has standing orders to kill them should they pose any threat, or contradict any executive orders - A course of action strongly supported by his second in command, Captain Nathan Lazard, who lost a friend and colleage at Jake's hand in a previous encounter.

With the odds stacked against them more than ever, Jakes doubts about himself and their cause reach a peak. He sees Loki as the sum of all the worst parts of himself, which makes him doubt his own heart. He decides to return to the Temple Of Elements in order to search the library for anything he can use to defeat Slade and his minions. He learns the location of another, smaller and more secret temple and goes to investigate. There he finds the Elemental Staff - a weapon capable of channeling and amplifying an elementals powers.

Meanwhile, Chris learns of Slades plan to kidnap all known elementals, most of them just kids. Despite being able to predict the location of each kidnapping, he always arrives too late to do anything - except once, where he rescues a teenager called Bryce Varner: a light elemental

Erin learns of Slades plan to defeat all opposing elementals once and for all - culminating in a plan to lure Jake & Chris to a place of his choosing using Erin as bait. Slade gets ready to leave for the final showdown, but tells Erin that he has one final task to accomplish first.

Jake, Chris & Bryce return to the temple of elements to discuss their next course of action. Bryce heals Jakes remaining wounds and injuries, since this is his second ability.

During yet another unwanted advance from Loki, Erin sees her chance for escape. She returns the advances, and while she is kissing Loki, she turns him to ice before he can stop her. She goes on the run in the facility, eventually being re-captured - but not before getting a message to Jake about where she is being held prisoner, and where Slade is about to take her.

Jake and Chris violently disagree with each other after healing Erin's distress call. In a reversal of roles, Jake wants to delay saving her, insisting that for once he must do what is right, and destroy Slades last genetics facility first - otherwise, he argues, if they fail then Slade can make an elemental army in his bid for world domination. Chris, on the other hand, is unusually impulsive and insists that they can't just leave their friend in Slades hand - they both know that he is capable and wnts to kill her. After athe argument Jake storms off to meet up with the special forces for a joint operation to destroy the facility. Chris meanwhile, sets off with Bryce to Slade's trap in a desperate attempt to rescue Erin.

Jake and the special forces are transported to the island via a stealth air transport.
