Jake Stryker is the elemental of Fire, and the son of Aaron & Catherine Stryker. Jake's family is rather wealthy and lives in a sizeable mansion. Jake likes to play down this wealth and be more of an average guy. Later on in life he will find out that this wealth has it's uses. Jake loves to spend his time is his customised training room with his personal arsenal of melee weapons, where he likes to train, usually on his own, sometimes with his little sister, although that's usually more for fun.

Jake never knew he had any special abilities until the day they manifested themselves. On his way home he was ambushed by a local gang of youths, the leader of whom was someone whom Jake had had feuds with as long as he can remember. Jakes stubborness and arrogance lead him into a confrontation where he was vastly outnumbered. Yet when the battle goes dire, his firsts burst into flame: the fire elemental had awakened.

It wasn't long before he met his new friends: Chris Angelus, the air elemental, and Erin Ambrose, the water elemental. And of course it wasnt long after he met his enemies. This was the birth of the feud between Jake and Morgan Slade. While their future battles were important in deciding the fate of the world, it would be their battle of wills that ultimately would prove decisive.

Jakes powers grew rapidly with each successive encounter with his enemies, leading him to perform some truly incredicle stunts to save the lives of his friends and innocent people. Once the existence of the elemntals became public knowledge, it wasn't long before the US government begun expressing concern over these new threats, particularly because the bulk of encounters took place on US soil.

The president of the United States personally authorised covert missions against all known elementals, to capture and interogate them. This was just the first of many reasons why Jake and the president did no get along with each other. Jake refused to trust a man who he beleived would stab him in the back after he no longer served a purpose. The president would not give ground to a potential threat against america.

After the formed an uneasy alliance, Jake and the Strike Team set off to Slades Island Base - to destroy his facility there. Jake put on an incredible show of power there, which carried a huge physical, mental, and spiritual toll. Jake defeated Sparky outside the entrance to the facilty while the strike team entered covertly. Afterwards he was confronted by Slade's Centurions; 100 of his finest men, each with diluted artificial elemental abilites.

A vicious battle ensued, in which jake performed several incredible elemental feats. By the end he was exhausted in every sense. Battered, bruised & bleeding, he collapsed to the floor for much needed rest, only to be disturbed minutes later by Gauss. Another battle ensued, but this time Gauss had the upper hand over an exhausted Jake. The tide turned however, after Gauss taunted Jake about personally killing his parents and sister, showing jake his sisters favourite necklace as proof.

Jake attacked with renewed energy, eventually defeating Gauss in a vengeful suicidal fury. Afterwards he used what little energy he had left to cause the volcano to errupt and wipe out slade's facility. He then was transported back home on board the Strike Team's air transport rather than flying back in his phoenix form. Hours later he confronted Morgan Slade in a final showdown. As with Gauss, Slade had the upper hand from the start, and was merely toying with Jake during the sword fight, slicing him with his katana in each attack as Jake slowly became weaker.

During the fight Slade revealed that Jake's sister was actually still alive, and was being used as a trump card. Despite Jake's increased determination to rescue his sister, he physically couldnt best Salde in a duel. Eventually Slade grew tired of what he called a "disappointing effort" on Jake's behalf, and injected him with the serum which blocked elemental abilities. Jake lay bleeding on the ground, unable to stand, and coluld only watch as Slade turned to walk over to his sister and kill her in front of him.

In one final all-or-nothing attempt to stop slade or die trying, Jake managed to get to his feet, and ran at Slade with what little strength he could muster, jumping onto his back when he was close enough. In Jake's rage, his abilities grew strong enough to break through the serum. However like popping a balloon, the sudden rush of power cause him to explode in a fireball. His last act was to use his abilities to constrain the fireball to a fixed size to prevent any other loss of life. After the smoke and flames cleared, Jake's lifeless body was found in the Crater where he once stood.

As Chris & Bryce comforted Erin & Abigail, bystanders fetched Jakes body out of the crater, and passed his body overhead from one person to the next. Everyone was silent, and many people tried to toch the hands of their fallen hero as a mark of respect. Jake could take comfort in the knowlwedge that he proved everyone wrong; He was a good man, he defeated Slade and his men, and ultimately save the lives of countless people.
